Alishan EPE-NT

Alishan EPE-NT is a high-performance encapsulant specially developed for n-type solar cells such as TOPCon. It combines the processing ease of EVA with the superior durability and moisture resistance of POE, ensuring enhanced protection for modules operating in challenging environments. The “NT” stands for N-type Technology, as this formulation is engineered to safeguard sensitive cell architectures that are more prone to PID and moisture-related degradation.

At Alishan, we are excited to introduce EPE-NT as an ideal encapsulant for next-generation n-type solar modules, especially those built with TOPCon and HJT cells. It maintains a lamination profile similar to EVA, making it easy to integrate into existing production lines, while offering long-term reliability advantages.

Moisture Protection: Alishan EPE-NT has a POE-based core that significantly lowers water vapor transmission, reducing the risk of corrosion in sensitive cell layers. This is critical for TOPCon and other n-type technologies that demand greater moisture resistance compared to conventional p-type cells.

PID Resistance: The advanced NT formulation prevents potential-induced degradation (PID), even under high-voltage and high-humidity conditions, by maintaining high insulation resistance and preventing ion migration inside the module.

Adhesion & Processability: With EVA-rich outer layers, EPE-NT provides excellent adhesion to glass and backsheet and behaves similarly to traditional EVA during lamination. This ensures strong bonding and minimal cell shifting, while enabling faster production without changes to lamination equipment.

UV & Thermal Durability: Designed to withstand long-term UV exposure and thermal cycling, Alishan EPE-NT prevents yellowing, cracking, and delamination—ensuring that modules perform reliably across varied climates and over time.
